A North Merrick man was arrested for allegedly robbing a store in East Meadow.
On February 22 at 1:40 a.m., Nassau County police officers responded to Convenience and Smoke Shop, located at 2050 Hempstead Turnpike, for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers saw the glass at the front entrance was broken and located Antonios Kanakis inside the store. Kanakis, 35, was arrested without incident.
Police charged Kanakis with Burglary in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. He was arraigned on February 22 at First District Court in Hempstead.
