
A Brentwood woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a homeless man to death in Bay Shore.
Third Precinct officers responded to Railroad Plaza after a 911 caller reported a man stabbed at 6:40 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man with a stab wound to his chest behind 115 Railroad Plaza. The victim, Shurvell Rush, 47, who is undomiciled, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
On May 6, Homicide Squad detectives arrested Nikeya S. Barker, 44, for allegedly stabbing and killing Rush. She was charged with second-degree murder. She was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on May 7.
