Employee Arrested for Allegedly Selling Cannabis Products

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for allegdly selling cannabis products at a Smithtown smoke shop.  

In response to numerous community complaints, Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, in conjunction with the Town of Smithtown Fire Marshal, conducted an investigation into the  unlicensed sale of cannabis products at local businesses. During the investigation, Mirza Imtiaz Ahmed, an employee of Convenience and Smoke Shop, located at 540 Smithtown Bypass, was found to be  allegedly selling cannabis products without a dispensary license.  

As part of the investigation, assorted cannabis and THC products and flavored vape products were seized.  

Ahmed, 43, of Selden, was charged with Unlicensed Cannabis Sale and False Personation. The Town of  Smithtown Fire Marshal issued several code violations to the business. Ahmed was issued a Desk  Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
