A Brentwood man has been charged with allegedly stabbing his mother to death in their home.
Suffolk County officers from the Third Precinct responded to a 911 call on September 9 at 5:26 p.m., reporting a woman had been stabbed at 55 West White Street. Officers found Melida Velasquez, 59, dead in the home with stab wounds.
On September 10, Homicide Squad detectives charged Jason S. Kurumoglu, 30, of 55 West White Street, with Murder in the Second Degree for the stabbing death of Melida Velasquez. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on September 11.
