LI Pol Co-Chairs New Postal Service Caucus

By Hank Russell

A Long Island congressman is one of four elected officials forming a new group whose goal is to improve the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). In addition, he will co-chair the caucus.

Andrew Garbarino (R-Patchogue) recently joined with a bipartisan group of colleagues to launch the new Congressional Postal Service Caucus. The Caucus — comprised of Garbarino, Nikki Budzinski (D-Illinois), Jack Bergan (R-Michigan) and Chris Pappas (D-New Hampshire) — will focus on improving on-time delivery rates, protecting postal workers, and stopping harmful facility consolidations that reduce access to essential services, especially in rural and underserved communities.

As Co-Chair of the Caucus, Garbarino will be responsible for supporting the postal workforce, ensuring the Postal Service operates efficiently and effectively in every community, and advancing commonsense reforms that he says will strengthen USPS for the long term.

“I’m proud to serve as Co-Chair of the Congressional Postal Service Caucus,” Garbarino said. “USPS provides an essential public service that the American people rely on. I look forward to working with my colleagues to support postal workers, ensure the system operates efficiently and effectively in every community, and advance commonsense reforms that strengthen the Postal Service long term.”

In addition to the Postal Service Caucus, Garbarino co-chairs other caucuses, including the Climate Solutions and SALT Caucuses.
