Allegedly Stole Jewelry from Victims in Nassau County
Four people from Connecticut have been arrested for grand larceny after they allegedly swiped jewelry from various individuals in the Nassau County area.
On July 28, Cosmina Caldararu allegedly stole jewelry from an 18-year-old male victim in Uniondale. On October 3, she — along with Constantin Dumitru — allegedly removed jewelry from an 84-year-old male victim in Baldwin.
On November 26, Caldararu — along with Laura Calin and Alexendru Dumitru — allegedly removed jewelry from a 94-year-old female victim in Oceanside. They allegedly took jewelry from a 66-year-old male victim in Franklin Square two days later and from a 79-year-old female victim in Valley Stream the following day.
On November 30, Caldararu and Alexendru Dumitru allegedly swiped jewelry from a 70-year-old female victim and a 68-year-old male victim in Valley Stream.
All four defendants, who live at 122 Walnut Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut, were later arrested and charged with grand larceny.
Police charged Caldararu with seven counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and three counts of conspiracy in the fifth degree. Alexendru Dumitru was charged with five counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and three counts of conspiracy in the fifth degree. Calin was charged with four counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and two counts of conspiracy in the fifth degree. Police charged Constantin Dumitru with grand larceny in the fourth degree.
All defendants were released on Appearance Tickets and taken into custody by U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents.
