
Nassau County officers from the Third Squad are asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying the person(s) responsible for stealing a dump truck from a Mineola business.
On July 6 at 1:30 p.m., a commercial burglary took place. On July 7 at 5:47 a.m., police responded for a disabled motorist near the intersection of Elm Place and Jericho Turnpike. Upon arrival, officers found the 2000 Kenworth dump truck to be empty and contacted the registered owner who had left it parked at a Puca Construction Corp office building located at 211 Elm Place.
Officers responded to the location and, following an investigation, found that the truck had been removed from the site by unknown subject(s) after they had illegally entered the building and damaged and stole approximately $9,650 in items. No description of the subject(s) is currently available.
The investigation is ongoing.
