On GHG Emissions

Chinese manufacturers account for perhaps 55% of global EV battery production.

According to the EPA, in 2019 (the last pre-Covid year), transportation accounted for approximately 33% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. The U.S. accounted for 11% of global GHG emissions that year. That means cars and light trucks in the U.S. accounted for approximately 2% of global GHG emissions in 2019.
