North Hempstead Town Receiver of Taxes Mary Jo Collins would like to remind taxpayers that the last day to pay the second half of the 2024 General Taxes without a penalty is Monday, August 12. Payments must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before the same day, to avoid a penalty.
The Tax Office has introduced two new methods for paying your taxes. The format is a pay-by-phone option, by calling (516) 869-7800 and selecting Option #1. Residents will need their account number, which is located at the top right-hand corner of the tax statement. Credit card, debit card, and ACH e-check are all accepted. Please note that the service fee follows the same fee schedule as online payments.
Those who cannot get to the Tax Office during normal business hours, can take advantage of the after-hours Dropbox, located at the front door of 200 Plandome Road. Make sure to include the remittance stubs with your payment checks and money orders only, no cash.
Online tax payments can be made by using the Receiver’s payment portal. Those who are paying with an online check must include their account number as referenced on their bill (i.e. 12345-G)
To pay in person, bring your tax bill to 200 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:45 pm. The Tax Office will have extended hours on August 7 and August 8 until 6:00 pm, as well as on August 12 until 7:00 pm.
Payments can also be made at the following collection sites (check or money order only, no cash) on the dates and times specified. Please bring the entire bill when paying in person.
