A short time ago, we submitted an editorial, warning the people of New York City that the election of communist Zohran Mamdani as mayor would reverberate with tremendous negative consequences.
The first has already come to fruition when we saw 16 homeless individuals freeze to death over a cold January after the Marxist mayor ordered city employees to stop dismantling homeless camps on public streets, subways and parks, or to provide these freezing homeless individuals with a warm bed in a city shelter.
In Mandani’s warped universe, it is a violation of the homeless individual’s civil rights if he is not allowed to pitch a tent on a sidewalk or in a public park and call it his home.
Mamdani is not just wrong on the law; he is wrong from a moral perspective, though he tries to paint himself as the humanitarian.
Well, there’s nothing humanitarian about allowing mentally ill and drug-addicted homeless people to freeze to death in single-digit weather in the middle of a cold winter.
Our editorial warned that the homeless encampments we see in this and other blue cities are a choice. It is a choice made by liberal leaders who deliberately foster chaos.
They are riddled with the guilt of privilege and suicidal empathy.
We are wealthy and they are poor so leave them alone, is their adage. But leave them alone to freeze to death?
It is absurd.
Once the winter is gone, problems will still exist for the millions of people in New York who will try to enjoy a public park or walk on a public sidewalk but will have to deal with mentally ill or drug addicted people taking over these public squares.
Remember, it doesn’t have to be this way. It is a choice. It’s not only your choice of our elected leaders; it is the choice of those who had cast a ballot for these crazy leaders in the first place.
