You might want to check out the marvelous story in the New York Post, which decried the recent trend to provide a vast number of new visas to foreign students to take American jobs over the summer.
This has always been a rite of passage for American students. We understand that many of them have gotten lazy and simply aren’t looking for work; however, a great many are, and they’re being crowded out of the job market by the unnecessary opening up of summer jobs to students from other countries who have no ties to the United States.
This is eerily similar to what we have been seeing over the last two decades, where schools have been bringing in more and more foreign students to take slots in the university system. What’s more, in many public colleges, foreign students are now filling the slots of 20% of all the seats.
It’s done in part because colleges want to give the hint of an international flavor and to make the woke crowd happy, but it also comes down to pure greed. The colleges can charge higher fees to these foreigners and are also encouraged to bring in foreign students due to grants that come from malevolent actors such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia. These are the same folks funding the insidious Middle Eastern studies at our colleges that have been poisoning our young people against Israel, America, and Western civilization itself.
We should’ve learned our lesson with crowding out our Americans for college seats by importing all these foreign students, but now we’re taking it a step further by crowding out our American kids from summer jobs.
