Kudos to Trump on Changing His Mind on Ukraine

Last week, our Editorial Board took umbrage at President Trump‘s announcement that he would be delaying arms shipments to Ukraine. This was a terrible message to send when it is Russia that has been gumming up any talks of peace. Why would we reward Putin for his intransigence?

But we heard that the order was reversed. It appears to be mostly missiles of a defensive nature, such as Patriots. They are important, but at this point, the Ukrainians need more offensive weapons as well.

The reason why the Russians were able to encroach on 20% of Ukrainian territory was that it took so long for the Biden administration to get them the weapons they needed to fight back. It eventually happened, but way too late (not to mention that Biden foolishly green-lighted a Russian advance by claiming a small incursion might not be objectionable).

Let’s send the message to China and Russia that, when you mess with our allies, we will respond. It doesn’t have to be our soldiers, but we will do what we can to fight Communist aggression, and support our allies.

Ukraine is doing us a favor by weakening our enemy, just like the Israelis did with Iran.

Let the world know we stand against our enemies and strongly with our friends.
