The recent article, “Judge blocks child deportations”, gives the impression that the Trump administration is heartlessly trying to deport children without their parents. But actually, the administration is simply looking to reunite children who illegally crossed the border in the Biden administration with their parents in Latin American countries.
The real scandal here is that former President Joe Biden encouraged parents to send their children on dangerous thousand-mile treks accompanied only by vicious cartel coyotes so that they can gain entry into the United States. Along the way, they were vulnerable to being sexually abused, abandoned or consumed by the sex trade.
Once here, it would be easier to bring in the rest of the family. Trump is saying it was cruel to encourage separation in the first place and now measures should be taken to ensure that these minors are reunited with their parents — not here in America, but in their countries of origin.
What’s wrong with that?
Why would judges and the media stand in the way of this common-sense proposition? The fact that they are doing so underscores why we had become a de facto open-border country in the Biden years.
