Conservative groups are blasting New York Democratic state legislators who are seeking to remove Chick-fil-A from the New York State Thruway rest stops because the franchise closes on Sunday.
We think there has been a war on conservative outlets that has been insidious, but, in this case, there is legitimacy in the argument that a private company that seeks to provide service to New York travelers must be available seven days a week. Chick-fil-A can impose any kind of work policies it desires, but if it wants to get a state contract and be available for those traveling to state highways, there’s nothing improper about requiring the outlet to be open seven days a week.
This is a case where the outrage against attacks on conservative outlets is misplaced.
