Soon after leaving public office, I wrote the book entitled Bias in the Media, which reflected my observation of how the mainstream media possesses a far-left perspective and tilts its articles with a quote or omissions of facts that would interfere with balanced coverage. Below or a few examples of more recent media bias that I have observed.
More Liberal Media Bias and Disinformation on COVID
The new administration in Washington has overhauled the government’s COVID-19 website to state that the pandemic originated with a lab leak.
It’s something most folks with common sense have understood for quite some time. Yet the AP tries to poke holes at the administration’s recognition of the truth, and. instead, tries to hold on to the ridiculous concept that it could be either a lab leak or have originated from nature from a wet market. To prove its ambiguous stance, it states that “a U.S. intelligence analysis released in 2023 said this insufficient evidence to prove either theory.”
What a bogus, biased statement! Both the FBI and the CIA have concluded that it is more likely than not that the leak originated from the lab. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cia-covid-likely-originated-lab-low-confidence-assessment/
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64806903
But stating that would interfere with the liberal AP’s narrative that we have no idea where the pandemic originated from. Were the AP to have concurred that it originated from the lab, it might look like the anti-Fauci crowd was right all along. And they can’t admit that.
Local Media Just Can’t Credit Trump for the Increase in Military Recruitment
A recent feel-good article from Newsday about an increase in Army recruits being sworn in at a ceremony in Suffolk County illustrated a disturbing bias in its premise. The article made it appear that there was something magical being undertaken in Suffolk that has led to an increase in recruitment. https://paper.newsday.com/html5/reader/production/default.aspx?edid=0626186c-098b-4b59-94c2-8219a7fff36e&pnum=13
As former President Joe Biden would say, “Come on man.” Recruitment is through the roof throughout the nation for one reason: The anti-military, defund-the-police posture embedded in the Biden administration is gone and a pro-military president and secretary of defense are now in office.
The woke nonsense, DEI programs, and desecration of our nation’s history, turned off the so-called “toxic males” who cowered the traditional recruits.
The feel-good story was fine, but to fail to admit the fact that it’s Trump‘s election that led to the increased recruitment is incredibly disingenuous by this media outlet.
Only the Liberal Media Can Put Negative Spin on Falling Prices
We have great news that the price of gas at the pump has been falling precipitously since President Trump took office. Some of it is indeed due to market forces, but that market is also a reflection of the perception of investors and oil producers. When they know the roadblock to production will be eliminated, they invest in producing more, which brings down the price. Yet Newsday posted the negative headline: “Long Island gas prices are down, leaving experts concerned.” https://paper.newsday.com/html5/reader/production/default.aspx?edid=0626186c-098b-4b59-94c2-8219a7fff36e&pnum=2
Concerned about what? That we have more money in our pockets and that it will lead to a relief of inflationary pressures on all other products?
This is another example of the media’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, which has to find a negative spin on anything coming from the 47th president. There are plenty of reasons to criticize Donald Trump for some of his actions. Lower gas prices is not one of them.
