Will Woke Hollywood Ignore “Top Gun”’s Success?

The Oscars are upon us and, once again, it appears that the movie most loved by the populace will be ignored by the Woke Hollywood elites.

Tom Cruise‘s Top Gun: Maverick was a smash hit, earning over $1 billion and loved by audiences. In our mind, it was by far the best and most entertaining movie of the year.

But it’s unlikely to win Best Picture because of its pro-America, pro-military perspective. That doesn’t go over well with Hollywood elites who generally look with this disdain toward our nation’s history and those who fought to protect our freedoms.

So, look for the totally unwatchable Everything Everywhere All at Once or the boooring Tár to gobble up most of the awards.

Interestingly, even the original Top Gun movie itself was not immune from the politically correct Hollywood narratives. Original scenes showed the pilots wearing leather jackets with a Taiwan patch emblazoned upon it. When the Communist Chinese Party complained, the producers were quick to remove the patch so that they would not be banned from China’s huge movie base. However, after an outcry from free speech advocates, the producers changed course and reinstated the patch. Good for them!

The movie was exciting, well-crafted and deserving of the Best Picture Oscar. But don’t bet on it.
