Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine was a guest speaker at the grand opening of the Renewable Energy/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Center on the Michael J. Grant Campus of Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood. During the event, which took place on June 1, Romaine presented a Certificate of Congratulations to Dr. Edward Bonahue, the president of Suffolk County Community College, to commemorate the event. Mr. Bonahue also announced a naming gift in partnership with National Grid to the college, establishing the National Grid Center for Workforce and Energy Innovation.
The $21.3 million Renewable Energy/STEM Center is home to state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms for instruction on the installation, maintenance and repair of solar, photovoltaic, wind, geothermal and other green power technologies, as well as cybersecurity, biology and workforce programs.
