Republican Santos Is Under Fire for a Questionable Résumé, But Not Democrat Blumenthal

Criticism continues to mount from the media against newly elected Congressman George Santos of Nassau County after The New York Times alleged he lied about his college attendance and work background. That’s serious stuff if it’s true. Some have called for ethics investigations, while others, such as Democratic Chair Jay Jacobs, have called for Santos to resign.

We say proper punishment should apply if Santos cannot rebut the allegations, but not before Democrat U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal is required to resign. He didn’t just lie about his college attendance, he lied about serving in the Vietnam War, when, in fact, he joined the Marine Reserves, which, some said, guaranteed he would NOT serve in battle. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/politics/natl-contrary-to-his-claims-ag-blumenthal-never-served-in-vietnam-report/1880706/

That seems to be a far more egregious misrepresentation than anything Santos is accused of.
