Smithtown Town Councilwoman Lisa Inzerillo (R-Kings Park) has endorsed Town Supervisor Ed Wehrheim (R-Kings Park) for re-election, citing his leadership and commitment to the community.

“As a Councilwoman of Smithtown and an engaged member of our community, I am writing to express my unwavering support for Town Supervisor Ed Wehrheim,” Inzerillo said. “Supervisor Wehrheim’s dedication to Smithtown is evident in every initiative he undertakes. He has consistently shown a deep commitment to improving our town, fostering a sense of community, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.”
Wehrheim has served as Smithtown’s Town Supervisor since 2018 after a long career in local government, first as a laborer in the Parks Department in the 1970s, which later culminated in his leadership of the department from 1989 to 2003. He was then appointed to the Town Council in 2003, elected in 2004. He primaried then-Supervisor Pat Vecchio (R) in 2017, winning a primary that went down to a recount of absentee ballots. He won his first term in 2017 and was re-elected in 2021.
Under his leadership, the town has completed several key projects, including park renovations, economic development initiatives, and infrastructure improvements. Inzerillo pointed to these achievements in her endorsement.

Wehrheim is seeking a third four-year term as Smithtown Town Supervisor.
