Suffolk County officers and Arson Section detectives are investigating the house fire that killed a woman in Bay Shore.
On January 30 about 1:30 a.m., officers responded to 1417 North Windsor Avenue after a 911 caller reported a fire. Three people were inside the house during the fire, and an adult female was declared dead at the scene. An adult male was brought to a local hospital to be treated for non-fatal injuries. Another male was not harmed.
The fire had spread to two neighboring homes, but no one was injured.
The identity of the woman is awaiting verification by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The reason for the fire is still under investigation but does not appear to be criminal in nature.
The investigation is ongoing.
