Two house fires broke out in one day, one in Oceanside, the other in East Meadow.
On January 10 at 1:19 p.m., Nassau County police officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a residential house fire on Carrel Street in Uniondale. Upon arrival, police observed a house fully engulfed in flames, causing significant damage.
The Oceanside Fire Department responded to extinguish the flames. All occupants were out of the house. There were no injuries reported.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal responded to investigate.
Later that day at 10:50 p.m., Nassau County officers from the First Precinct responded to a house fire on Cooper Drive in East Meadow. Upon arrival, police observed the second floor of the home engulfed in flames.
The East Meadow Fire Department responded to extinguish the flames. All occupants were out of the home. There were no injuries reported.
The investigation of both incidents is ongoing.
