Two boats sank at a Port Manorville marina after a late-night fire broke out.
On January 22 at 12:30 a.m., Nassau County Officers responded to Manhasset Bay Marina, located at 10 Matinecock Avenue, for an unoccupied 43-foot Marine Trader boat that was fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to a nearby 42-foot Post Boat.
The Port Washington Fire Department, along with several other local fire departments, came to help put out the fire. Both vessels sank, and a 58-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. The Nassau County Fire Marshal, Arson Bomb Squad, and Marine Bureau responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
