On October 7, Together We Remember — an event to remember those who died in the October 7 attacks last year — will take place at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The event starts at 6 p.m.
This ceremony of reflection and prayer as those in attendance will stand together in solidarity to mark the one-year anniversary of the attacks, which started the Israel-Hamas War, in which Hamas launched a multi-pronged attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip. The attack killed 1,200 people, many of them Israeli citizens. In addition, 250 were taken hostage. It was the deadliest attack on Israel since its independence.
There will be a musical performance from Shulem Lemmer. People are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
