The Suffolk County Department of Labor is hosting two job fairs on September 10 and September 12. All are encouraged to reach out to the Suffolk County Department of Labor beforehand for resume assistance and to obtain business attire through Career Couture.
“Suffolk County is committed to helping job seekers at every step of their job search,” said Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine. “We are connecting motivated job seekers to healthcare and other industries, many of which are in high demand.”
The September 10 job fair is targeted toward prospective healthcare workers on the East End. Northwell Health and Stony Brook Medicine will be among the many employers present. Local medical practices and home health aide agencies will also be represented. The fair is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1018 Northville Turnpike in Riverhead.
The September 12 job fair is being jointly held by the Suffolk County Department of Labor and the New York State Department of Labor with employers from across many industries. Forty-two employers will be in attendance, including two county agencies: the Suffolk County Police Department and the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing and Consumer Affairs. Other government agencies present will include the Suffolk County Water Authority, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the New York State Parks Recreation & Historic Preservation, the New York State Department of Civil Service, the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the United States Postal Service (USPS). The fair is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 1600 Walt Whitman Road in Melville.
The Suffolk County Department of Labor has worked with 11,000 jobs seekers this year to date on their journey to employment.
