Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D-Valley Stream) has been elevated to ranking member of the Legislature’s Finance Committee. This position is crucial for delivering fiscal oversight of county contracting and government operations.
Solages, who began serving on the Finance Committee in 2022, was elevated to ranking member during the Legislature’s January 8 organizational meeting by Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D-Glen Cove). He will continue to serve as ranking member of the Legislature’s Minority Affairs and Planning, Development and the Environment committees, and will also be a member of the Government Services & Operations and Public Works and Parks committees.
“I am excited to serve as the new ranking member of the Finance committee and thank Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton for giving me this opportunity,” Legislator Solages said. “I am committed to energetically fulfilling my duties in this new role so that we can deliver the rigorous fiscal oversight that taxpayers deserve and implement policies that will make Nassau County a more affordable place for every family.”
