SCPD Holds Graduation of 193rd Recruit Class

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina presided over recruit class 24-193 during their graduation ceremony in Hauppauge on July 18.
As part of their training, the recruits completed 31 weeks of academy training with more than 1,000 hours of instruction including law, emergency medical training, domestic violence, anti-bias training, mental illness, cultural diversity, terrorism, and body-worn camera technology.
In addition to the 136 Suffolk County Police recruits, 18 recruits represented the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Amityville Police Department, Riverhead Town Police Department, Southampton Town Police Department, Southold Town Police Department, SUNY Stony Brook Police Department, Glen Cove Police Department and Long Beach Police Department.
