Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Suffolk County Acting Police Commissioner Robert Waring presided over a ceremony on April 19 at the Suffolk Federal Credit Union Arena in Brentwood to recognize the promotions of approximately 200 Suffolk County police officers who have been promoted since 2022.
Among those who were recognized included Chief of Detectives Darrel Simmons, Chief of Operations Michael Romagnoli, and Assistant Chief Milagros Soto, who is the highest-ranking female in department history.
