Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver of a vehicle that injured two pedestrians before fleeing the scene in North Bellport last week.
As previously reported in Long Island Life & Politics, two pedestrians were walking eastbound across Station Road at the intersection of Patchogue Avenue on September 26, when they were struck by a white Jeep driving southbound at 9:38 p.m. The vehicle then fled south toward Montauk Highway.
D’Ajiah Mitchell, 15, of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Kevin Reese, 14, of Bellport, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk County for treatment of minor injuries.
The vehicle is believed to have damage to the front left corner, including the headlight.
