Police Respond to 2 Separate Fires

The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad reported two fires that happened during the Fourth of July weekend.

On July 5 at 6:53 p.m., officers responded to 131 Central Park Road in Plainview for an odor of smoke. Upon arrival, officers determined that a fire was inside Central Park Nail Spa, located at 133 Central Park Road.

The Plainview Fire Department, along with several other fire departments, responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Later that day at 9:34 p.m., officers responded to a residential home located on Cinque Drive in South Farmingdale. Upon arrival, officers observed a small brush fire that spread to the neighboring home.

The South Farmingdale Fire Department responded to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but it’s believed to have been started due to fireworks.

Both investigations are ongoing.
