Nassau County police are trying to determine what caused a fire at a house in Woodmere.
On November 19, officers responded to a house fire on Mosher Avenue at 10:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they observed flames emanating from the rear of the residence. The building occupants were all evacuated safely. The Woodmere Fire Department along with several additional fire departments responded to extinguish the fire. Two firefighters suffered injuries but refused medical treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The building sustained moderate structural damage along with variant degrees of smoke, fire, and water damage throughout the building.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad Detectives responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined and is deemed not suspicious at this time.
