Police, Fire Departments Respond to House Fire in East Rockaway

Nassau County police and local fire departments responded to a house fire that occurred in East Rockaway.

On August 23 at 4:05 p.m., officers responded to a 3rd Avenue residence for a house fire. The East Rockaway Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The home sustained considerable damage. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. The Red Cross responded to provide assistance.

One resident was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The fire is believed to be accidental.
