One Killed, One Injured in Separate Motorcycle Crashes

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash which killed a Bellport Man, and Fifth Squad detectives are also investigating a motorcycle crash which injured a Selden man.

On July 22, Silvano Posadas, 35, was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Mastic Road in Mastic. At approximately 8:45 p.m., Posadas collided with a northbound 2010 Toyota Matrix that was stopped at the intersection of Somerset Avenue waiting to make a left turn.

Possadas was taken to to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he
was pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota, Molly Mills, 61, of Medford, was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Two days later, on July 24, Richard Mouzakes, 59, was driving a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Jamaica Avenue in Medford. At approximately 3:15 p.m., Mouzakes struck a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and Old Medford Avenue.

Mouzakes was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital and was in serious condition. The driver of the Nissan, Robert Wilson, 66, of Medford, was also transported to Stony Brook Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks.
