North Hempstead’s Community Services Team and Department of Services for the Aging will again host the Town’s two, annual Senior Halloween Dances this October.
The first dance will be held at Fuschillo Park on October 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The second dance will take place at Clinton G. Martin Park on October 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The popular events are open to all North Hempstead seniors, and they are welcome to attend either or both events. Attendees will be treated to lunch, dessert, music, dancing, Halloween-themed games, contests, and more. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Community Services and Department of Services for the Aging Commissioner Kimberly Corcoran Galante explained, “We know that socialization is an important part of the health and well-being of North Hempstead’s seniors. Project Independence programs provide a full array of weekly activities that help to support our senior residents’ bodies, minds, and spirits. I can’t think of a better way to engage our seniors and get them into the Halloween spirit than with a fun-filled dance with their neighbors and friends.”
“It’s a simple philosophy,” added Supervisor Jennifer DeSena. “We believe a happy senior is a healthier senior and these dances make for some happy seniors. Besides, the fun is contagious, so I want all our older residents to come on down and join us!”
Charles J. Fuschillo Park is located at 345 Carle Rd., in Carle Place. Clinton G. Martin Park is located at the intersection oof New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park.
