Mixed-Use Building Fire Breaks out in Baldwin

A late-night fire broke out in Baldwin.

According to detectives from the Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad, officers responded to a fire at a residential/commercial building located on Grand Avenue on August 10 at 1:38 a.m. Upon arrival, they observed heavy smoke conditions coming from the second floor.

The Baldwin Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad were also at the scene. The Red Cross was notified and responded to assist the displaced residents. No injuries were reported, and the fire is not considered to be suspicious at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
