Loguercio Honors WW ll Veteran Dolphus Knowles on His 100th Birthday

During a special ceremony on February 26, Brookhaven’s Bellhaven Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing Care became the site of a remarkable celebration, honoring the 100th birthday of Dolphus Knowles. Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow veterans, Knowles, the oldest living member of VFW Post 8300 in East Patchogue, was recognized for his significant milestones and dedicated service to the nation.

Councilman Michael Loguercio presented Knowles with a proclamation that not only celebrated his century of life but also marked the day as “Dolphus Knowles Day” in the Town of Brookhaven. After serving as a member of the United States Army Smoke Screen Unit during World War II, he joined the United States Postal Service, which he served for 32 years.

The intimate birthday celebration included members from his VFW Post 8300, and his wife.
