
Nassau County police rescued a woman who was stranded in a marsh in Merrick
On June 25 at 12:11 p.m., Helicopter 6 of the Nassau County Police Department Aviation Unit received a call for a stranded jet skier on a marsh in the vicinity of False Channel. The jet skier suffered severe dehydration after being stuck in the sun for several hours.
Helicopter 6 landed on the marsh nearby and the Tactical Flight Officer walked to the jet skier and assisted the female, 60, through the mud back to the helicopter.
The flight crew coordinated with ground units and transported the female to a nearby hospital by a Nassau County Police Ambulance for treatment and evaluation.
