
A house fire broke out in Bellmore.
On August 20 at 7:30 pm., Nassau County officers responded to a residential home located on New Place. Upon arrival, they saw heavy smoke coming from the basement. The Bellmore Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad were also at the scene. The Red Cross was notified and responded to assist the displaced residents. No injuries were reported and no criminality is suspected at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
