In preparation for Valentine’s Day, Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor, County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Veterans Service Agency Director Ralph Esposito and local veterans gathered to collect valentines for veterans made by school children across the county.
“As a veteran and retired Army officer, I am overwhelmed by the number of valentines that we have collected,” Gaylor said. “These valentines came from students from all over the county, all wishing our veterans well, and thanking them for their service. I am touched by their compassion, and I thank County Executive Blakeman for putting this together.”
