A fire broke out at a home in Glen Head.
On October 30 at 5:53 p.m., Nassau County officers responded to a residence on Cedar Swamp Road. Upon arrival, they observed a fire in the home. All residents were safely evacuated with no reported injuries.
The fire did cause substantial structural damage. The Glenwood Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal, the Arson Bomb Squad and the Town of Oyster Bay also responded. Further investigation revealed a gas explosion had occurred.
The investigation is ongoing.
