The Town of Brookhaven will present a series of Disability Task Force Community Town Hall Meetings starting on September 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The meetings will focus on issues in each council district.
The first event will be held at the Middle Country Public Library, 101 Eastwood Blvd. in Centereach. It will focus on Council District 3 (Lake Grove, Centereach, Selden, and parts of Lake Ronkonkoma, Farmingville, Port Jefferson Station, and Holtsville) represented by in Councilman Neil Manzella. The meetings will provide residents with the opportunity to share life experiences and general concerns, including the accessibility of Brookhaven Town properties, services, streets, sidewalks, bus stops, bus shelters and more.
Manzella will address the audience at the first meeting and provide opening and closing remarks. Attendees will be limited to three minutes each to make a statement. Due to time constraints, no audience questions will be accepted.
The Town of Brookhaven’s Disability Task Force was established after then-Supervisor Ed Romaine and the Town Board passed a resolution on September 30, 2014, calling for the establishment of the task force.
