Suffolk County homicide detectives are currently investigating the death of a Central Islip woman.
On June 19, at 9:41 p.m., Shayna Staton, 39, was found dead inside her home by a family member. The Third Precinct police officers were summoned to 117 Hawthorne Avenue, Apartment. 380, in Central Islip and discovered that Staton had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
