Bynoe Honors Nassau County’s 16 Newest Corrections Officers

Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe (D-Westbury) joined leaders in law enforcement and her government colleagues at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence on Monday, Sept. 9 to celebrate the graduation of Correction Officer Recruit Class No. 112. The 16-member graduating class, which includes local residents Nicole Sandiford, of Uniondale, and Michael Sivells, of Westbury, completed 12 weeks of intense training prior to their commencement exercises.

“These 16 men and women are commendably embarking upon careers as law enforcement professionals in a field that is vital to preserving public safety, but far too often overlooked by the public,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Bynoe said. “I pray for the safety and success of these new corrections officer as they apply their rigorous training toward discharging their duties with honor, integrity, and the highest standards of professionalism.”
