Bonner Joins Rocky Point Historical Society at Traditional Encampment

On April 6, the Rocky Point Historical Society hosted a vibrant historical reenactment with the 3rd New York Regiment at the Hallock Homestead Museum, dating back to 1721. Councilwoman Jane Bonner participated in the day’s rich tapestry of activities.

The event included the regiment’s enactment of military drills, with volleys fired and marches to the Long Island Sound, bringing to life the area’s historical significance. Attendees also enjoyed the dedication of the Joan Dochtermann Pollinator Garden, which adds a new feature to the museum’s landscape to support local biodiversity.

Additional attractions included guided tours of the historic homestead and a poignant salute at the Hallock Burying Ground on Hallock Lane, honoring the patriots laid to rest there. .

Located at 172 Hallock Landing Road in Rocky Point, the Hallock Homestead Museum serves as a pivotal cultural landmark, with the Rocky Point Historical Society at the helm of promoting research and education about the historic North Shore community.
