Blaze at Apartment Building Leaves Firefighter Hospitalized

An apartment fire broke out in Woodbury, leaving one firefighter hospitalized.

On August 26 at 12:51 a.m., Nassau County officers from the Arson Bomb Squad responded to Fairhaven Apartments for a fire located at 106 Fairhaven Boulevard. The Woodbury Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the scene.  The Red Cross was notified and responded to offer assistance to the displaced residents.

The investigation is ongoing.

All occupants of the building were evacuated safely with no injuries reported. A firefighter suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to a local area hospital.
