Abandoned Kitten Rescued in New Hyde Park

An abandoned kitten was rescued by Nassau police after it was seen walking along a road in New Hyde Park.

According to police, a Highway Patrol Bureau (HPB) Officer was driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 34 when he observed an abandoned kitten in the middle of the road. The officer activated his emergency lights to stop traffic before getting out of his car to rescue the kitten. The kitten appeared unharmed and was transported to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter for assessment and treatment.
