Two firefighters were injured while they were battling a house fire in North Bellmore.
On December 1 at 6:14 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to 800 Sacco Place. Upon arrival, they observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. The Bellmore Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. Two firefighters were injured and transported to a local area hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
