2 Firefighters Hurt While Battling Roslyn Heights Blaze

A firefighter was hospitalized and another suffered from smoke inhalation after responding to a house fire in Roslyn Heights.

On October 29 at 9:45 am., Nassau County officers responded to a residential home located on Pinetree Lane. Upon arrival, they observed the house fully engulfed in flames. All occupants of the home were evacuated before the police arrived.

The Roslyn Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. One Carle Place firefighter suffered from first- and second-degree burns to his face while operating on the roof of the home and was transported to a local hospital. Another firefighter suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
