We don’t always concur with the more extremist measures that are attempted by the radical climate advocates, but in the case of banning gas-powered leaf blowers, we are in agreement.
We don’t think the environmental savings will be as great as the advocates claim, but banning leaf blowers of the gas-powered variety will certainly be music to our ears. The electric versions are much quieter.
Most of us have been woken up or disturbed during a period of solitude by these ear-numbing, annoying gas-powered leaf blowers. Since the battery-charged version works just as well, why not spare us from the noise pollution? We hope Governor Hochul will sign this bill introduced by outgoing Assemblyman Steve Englebright (D-Setauket).
