Suffolk County Police arrested a Deer Park student after he brought a BB gun to school and made threats of harm towards the school community.
First Precinct Patrol officers responded to Robert Frost Middle School, located at 450 Half Hollow Road, following an incident where a student displayed a BB gun and threatened to cause harm. A security guard escorted the student to the principal’s office, where the student handed the BB gun over to school officials on May 16 at approximately 11:25 a.m. The student was isolated from other students.
First Precinct Crime Section officers investigated and determined there was no credible threat.
First Squad detectives charged the student with aggravated threat of mass harm, a Class A misdemeanor. He was released to a family member and is scheduled to be arraigned at Suffolk County
Family Court on a later date.
