Suffolk County Police arrested a Copiague Middle School student for making a threat of mass harm on social media.

Following a 911 call from school officials, First Precinct officers responded to Copiague Middle School, located at 2650 Great Neck Road, on March 10 at 6:43 a.m. after a 12-year-old male posted a picture on Instagram that showed a gun. Following an investigation by First Precinct Investigative Unit officers, it was determined the threat was not credible.

The student, who cannot be identified because of his age, was arrested and charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm. He will be arraigned on a later date.
